In 2023, CIMA - MAAC International Early Music Summer Courses return to Idanha-a-Velha.

It's 13th edition, which will take place between the 28 August and 2 September in the historic village of Idanha-a-Velha, will approach seventeenth-century French Music as it's main theme. In addition to the violin and viola, flute, harp, bassoon and harpsichord masterclasses, there will be an baroque orchestra workshop led by Lorenzo Colitto; a choir and vocal training workshop guided by Michel Laplénie and baroque improvisation sessions with horses (!) by Davide Monti.

As always, there are special conditions for participants from creative cities and music conservatories and higher schools in Portugal.

2. DISCOUNTS

 

Depending on the chosen option, one of the following discounts may be selected on the application form:

- 100% BRING+4 discount if 1 registration brings 4 more full registrations A, B or C, the first one is free;
- 40% discount for participants of the Free Baroque Music Course for ESART Orquestra;
- 20% discount for repeated registration;
- 10% discount for institutions and partners referred to in the CIMA poster;
- 10% discount for those who accompany 1-A registration.

 


3. IMPORTANT REMARKS
 

  • 1) Instrument masterclasses operate with a minimum of 5 participants.
  • 2) All participants are invited to participate in CIMA'a final project - Orchestra and Choir - as well as dance and improvisation workshops.
  • 3) All participants must bring a music stand and concert clothes.


4. ACCOMODATION, MEALS AND TRANSPORT
 

  • 1) Accomodation at university residence in Idanha-A-Nova, double rooms.
  • 2) The courses take place in various spaces in the historical village of Idanha-A-Velha, lunch and dinner are served on site.
  • 3) Transport Castelo Branco -> Idanha-A-Nova on August 27 and Idanha-A-Nova -> Castelo Branco on September 3 by CimaBus.
  • 4) The organization ensure the connection transport between Idanha-A-Nova and Idanha-A-Velha.

 

5. PAYMENT AND GENERAL REMARKS

 

  • 1) Payment of registration by bank transfer or Multibanco. Detailed information will be provided after submitting the application form.
  • 2) Registration fee is non-refundable after July 1st. Before this date is refundable 50%
  • 3) Payment confirmation must be sent to cima.portugal@gmail.com
  • 4) A3=392HZ, 415HZ e 440HZ accepted.


6. REGISTRATION DEADLINES
 

  • Regular: until July 31st.
  • Extra: after July 31st with penalty of €5 per extra day.
